Ocean Protection Council Panel Meeting Today and Tomorrow

Our very own Logan Kock is part of a diverse panel of seafood industry representatives spending today and tomorrow in meetings to assist the California Ocean Protection Council in implementation of Assembly Bill 1217. This bill requires the OPC to develop and implement a voluntary seafood promotion program for California fisheries with the intent of encouraging California fisheries to seek certification in accordance with internationally accepted standards for sustainability and to promote the purchase and consumption of certified sustainable California seafood.

Logan joins Panel Members representing state or federal fishery management agencies, non-governmental organizations, the commercial fishing industry, fish processors, fish retailers, restaurateurs, public health/nutrition officials, fishing port officials, and the scientific community.

You can learn more about the California Ocean Protection Council at their website. We’ll blog more about the event once Logan gets back to his desk later this week…
